2024 High Performers Camp

Do you want to learn how to train your body and mind to bring your game to the next level? We have an elite team of former professional players, professional coaches, and experts in mental health and performance, nutrition, and mentors for navigating the complex system of elite soccer at the professional and collegiate ranks. We are coming together for the High Performers Camp sponsored by Mustang Soccer to provide a 4-day camp/workshop to train the Bay Area’s best young soccer players how to succeed at the next level. With an emphasis on the whole student-athlete experience, we will provide an inside look at the daily training and lifestyle habits that are required to be successful at the highest levels of the game.

The High Performers Camp will include:

  • On-field technical and functional training with Wondo Soccer, Double Scissors
  • Mental skills workshops and handout packet with Athletic Acumen

  • Navigating the professional/collegiate soccer systems workshop with Javier Ayala

  • Workshop on Nutrition for Performance and Recovery with Dr. Ryan Lazarus

  • Parents invited to staff panel discussion Thursday Hour 1

Camp Staff

Noah Merl

Clinical Therapist and Sport Psychology Consultant, former collegiate and professional soccer player (Cal, Seattle Sounders, San Jose Earthquakes). 12+ years experience in mental health, addiction medicine, and performance psychology. Currently Mental Performance Coach for the San Jose Earthquakes and maintaining private psychotherapy practice. 

Chris Wondolowski

17-year MLS career, all-time leading MLS goal scorer, 2012 MLS MVP, 3x MLS best IX. Current coach with San Jose Earthquakes and U23 Individual Development Programming Head.

Stefan Clemens

Founder of Double Scissors Soccer technical training for high-level players pursuing the collegiate and professional ranks. After working as an assistant coach with the Cal Men’s soccer team from 2017-2020, Stefan’s main focus is on individual development through his private training business. Stefan also founded SoccerDays Camps and Clinics for beginners to nurture the next generation of athletes.

Javier Ayala

Founder and Academy Director of Bay Area Soccer Academy and College Program & Advisory Director at Mustang Soccer Club. Former College Soccer Coach at Cal, USF, and SF State.  He oversees the mentorship program for young players who aspire to play at a high youth level, college, or professionally. 

Dr. Ryan Lazarus MSc, CNS, DC

Founder & Clinical Director at The Lazarus Method, LLC, Board-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, Certified Personal Trainer & Rehabilitation Specialist. He is also a best-selling author of The Essential Health Playbook, which provides readers with a method for optimal health and peak performance. Dr. Lazarus has an office in Danville and specializes in personalized performance prescriptions for athletes of all ages using cutting-edge labs and exams.
